On April 1st, the Northeast Screening and Academic Discussion Conference of the 19th "Beijing College Student Film Festival" was held in NENU. It was sponsored by Beijing Normal University and Beijing Radio, Film and Television Bureau. It was organized by School of Arts and Media of Beijing Normal University, School of Media Science of NENU, and the magazine Arts Debate. The conference was divided into 4 parts: theme-based workshops, sub-forum seminar, and seminar for exchanging students’ screening work, film screenings and leading staff meeting conference. In the six exhibition areas of the festival, the Northeast section was the one most welcome with richest variety of events, largest number of participant colleges and universities as well as most renowned experts, which attracted largest audiences.
At the opening ceremony, NENU's Vice-president Liu Yichun delivered a welcome speech and thought highly of the organization of this festival by School of Media Science. Zhou Xing, on behalf of the organizing committee of Beijing University Student Film Festival, also gave a speech.
At the seminar, experts focused on the topic of 'Perseverance and Expansion---on the Creation and Development of Mainstream Films in Contemporary China'. Altogether 31 original films, produced by college students in Northeast China and Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, were on show at the festival.
