Recently, as a primary member unit NENU was admitted into Chinese Wushu Association with a total number of merely 16 members up till now. The approval is a full recognition of NENU's achievements in the construction of Traditional Sports with national characteristics.
With martial arts as its key component, traditional National sports is a new branch of science covering Chinese National folk Sports and Traditional health-preserving sports. The subject of NENU's folk sports was established in 2001 and has achieved rapid development in the past decade. So far, the teachers and students have won many awards in relevant contests and gone abroad to perform, gaining wide acclaim in the field.
