Drowning Children Saved by a Student from School of Physical Education of NENU

Published:March 13, 2013 Review:

Recently, NENU received a letter of thanks from Yanggu County, Shandong Province, which tells the moving story of Wang Jianchao, an undergraduate of Grade 2012, from School of Physical Education, who had bravely saved two drowning children during the winter vacation.
The story happened on February 14th when Wang Jianchao was chatting with his friends at home and heard people outside crying for help. He rushed out and saw two boys struggling in the icy pond. He found a rope, tied one end to his waist and the other held by his friend, jumped into the water, swam to the children ten meters away from him, pulled them toward the bank and saved them finally. Later on, to express their gratitude, the children's parents brought gifts to Wang Jianchao's home but were refused.
After school started, the children's parents determinedly sent a letter of thanks and a banner to express their grateful feelings. The NENU Youth League has awarded Wang Jianchao the honored title "2012-2013 May 4th Youth League Member" in recognition of his courageous spirit.
