On April 8th, NENU President Liu Yichun gave a report to teachers from School of Education with the title of “Implementing the Spirit of the 18th Congress, Promoting the Scientific Development of the School of Education”.
In the report, Liu Yichun briefly introduced the national development in the past five years and the priorities in government work in 2013. He specifically mentioned that the government has given priority to education and to promote the connotative development of higher education requires that pre-school education be perfected, the quality of education be improved and students' sense of social responsibility be enhanced. He pointed out that we need to clearly recognize the level and position of NENU and to adhere to the ideas of cultivating elite talents in the context of popular education, so that we can advance the construction of a world-class Normal University by employing advantageous disciplines and outstanding teachers. Through focusing on personnel training system, key subject construction, management and institutional reform and other respects, we shall constantly strengthen school characteristics and connotative development of NENU. Liu Yichun hopes that through combining the reality, setting clear objectives and clarifying positioning, strengthening interdisciplinary integration and optimizing the teaching body, the School of Education will further promote its own characteristic development, coordinated development and sustainable development.
