To further implement the spirits of serial documents which require strengthening the management of scientific research projects and funds, so as to further standardize the scientific research activity and better perform related work, NENU invited Li Yuhong, Division Director of Science and Technology Department, Ministry of Education to give a special report on November 15th. Leaders, principals and teachers concerned all attended the report.
During the report entitled with “Scientifically Standardize Scientific Research Projects Management and Funds Management in Colleges and Universities to Improve the Fund Efficiency”, Li Yuhong introduced the current situation, new challenges and new demands at hand in the scientific and research work in colleges and universities. He pointed out that colleges and universities had become the main force of scientific and technological innovation, especially of basic research, and it was an urgent task for them to strengthen the management and supervision of scientific research projects and funds. The report put an emphasis on the introduction of thinking, principles and work focus concerning the management. In the meantime, it gave an interpretation of main points in the three documents issues by the Ministry of Education in late 2012. Li Yuhong also put forward that colleges and universities should reform earnestly, establish a new system, act according to the rules and administer long-term in the next move of work, thus creating the favorable atmosphere of “perfect policies and systems, in-place management responsibilities, and self-disciplined researchers”. Later, Li Yuhong answered questions of participants.
Vice president Su Zhongmin gave a speech at the meeting, in which he introduced the arrangements of NENU’s scientific and research work at the current stage. He said that NENU would further perfect relevant rules and regulations and exert great efforts to strengthen the funds management, supervision and auditing, so as to make good use of scientific and research funds. While at school, Li Yuhong listened to the “Working Report of Central Universities Fundamental Research Management”. He highly praised the management and usage of basic scientific and research funds and gave specific guidance to its arrangement, usage and management.
