Recently, editing and publication seminar of Contemporary Music was held in Chang Chun. Professor Xu Dunguang from School of Music of NENU was appointed as the first editor-in-chief after its face-lifting.
Originally, Contemporary Music was named Light Music and sponsored by Musician Association of Jilin Province. In January 1985, it changed into its present name and started publication with the approval of GAPP (General Administration of Press and Publication). Up till now it has been the only magazine on musical art in Jilin province. The face-lifted Contemporary Music is taken charge of by Jilin Literary Federation and co-sponsored by Jilin Musician Association and AV Publishers.
