NENU's Project Approved as the Major Project of 2013 National Social Science Fund

Published:January 9, 2014 Review:

Recently, organized by the national planning office of philosophy and social science, the second batch of major projects review of 2013 national social science fund drew to a close. The project "Chinese Translation and Research into Core Historical Documentation in the Age of Frank", with Professor Wang Jingxin from School of History and Culture as the chief expert, was successfully approved and obtained 800,000 RMB of grants. This is the second time for NENU to win such an honor since the meeting of "the 12th Five-year" of developing philosophy and social science.

Taking translating a batch of core historical documentation from the middle 5th century to the middle 10th century as a breakthrough point, the project "Chinese Translation and Research into Core Historical Documentation in the Age of Frank" will further define the research orientation of Chinese historiography about the western studies of historical literature in early Medieval. Through conducting academic research in western countries’ research status and fundamental achievements in the field, the project aims to formulate professional bibliography and data bank gradually, to accumulate experience in bibliography, study of versions, textual criticism and professional literature translation, so as to reinforce the secondary discipline construction of foreign historical philosophy and to lay a solid foundation for the long-term development of the first-level discipline of world history
