On Jan. 16 the press conference on 2012 China Rural Education Development Report sponsored by the Research Institute of Rural Education, a key research institute of humanities and social science in China was held in Beijing. Deputy director of the Department of Teacher Education in Ministry of Education Yin Changchun, deputy party secretary and vice-president Li Zhongjun, the deputy editor-in-chief of Beijing Normal University Publishing Group Li Yanhui and the directors and scholars from the related departments in the Ministry of Education, the Faculty of Education in Beijing Normal University, and the School of Education of RENMIN University of China attended the meeting.
At the meeting Li Zhongjun and Li Yanhui delivered speeches respectively. The director of NENU's Research Institute of Rural Education, the Professor with Honor of the "Yangtze River Scholars Program" Wu Zhihui released the 2012 China Rural Education Development Report. Wu Zhihui described the outline, the process of the study and the way of presenting and explained the conclusions, main findings and policy suggestions in the report. He also answered questions from journalists from more than 20 media such as Xinhua News Agency, Guangming Daily, China Youth Daily and China Education Daily centered on the problems of " eliminating the disparities between teachers in rural and urban areas", "the construction of boarding schools in rural areas", and "the construction of education informationalization in rural areas".
