Recently, NENU has opened cooking class in the Confucius Institute of University of Alaska Anchorage and the class won wide acclaim from the learners.
The course was opened through the cooperation of the Confucius Institute and the Opportunities for Lifelong Education Organization (OLE, a lifelong education amortization, helping all the aged people in the community, who are retired persons over 50, most of whom are senior intellectuals) in University of Alaska Anchorage, and the objects are the learners of OLE. The Confucius Institute paid close attention to the arrangement of the cooking course despite that it was not a regular course. In each class, the cooking method of a new traditional Chinese dish would be taught. During the teaching of cooking, lectures on traditional Chinese cuisine culture would be given to improve the learners’ interest in learning and understanding Chinese culture.
