On April 17th and 18th, the Association of Sino-Russian Normal Universities was established in Beijing Normal University. NENU took part in the inauguration ceremony as a member.
After the establishment of ““Association of Sino-Russian Engineering Universities ” and “Association of Sino-Russian Economic Universities”, the association of normal universities is the third professional alliance among colleges and universities in the filed of Sino-Russian teacher education. It consists of China’s top six normal universities and six Russian normal universities. The association aims to unite the power of high-level Sino-Russian educational institutions, to promote personnel exchanges and research cooperation, and to promote common prosperity and development of Sino-Russian culture and education, so as to inject vigor and vitality into the reform and development of international education.
Vice president Feng Jiang gave a speech at the inauguration ceremony on behalf of NENU. He introduced the general situation of leadership visits, teacher exchange and student exchange between NENU and Russian universities. He also said that after the establishment of Association of Sino-Russian Normal Universities, NENU desires to perfect the operating mechanism of alliance, promote its construction and development, reinforce bilateral education intellectual reserves and improve the academic innovation capacity along with other members. Within the framework of alliance, NENU will actively organize the exchanges and cooperation with Russian colleges and universities in the fields of teaching, scientific research, cultural transmission and social services, so as to play a due role in the educational development of two countries.
