Recently, organized by the State Oceanic Administration, results of the 2013 ocean engineering science and technology award were announced. The project “Demonstration and Experimental Study on the Comprehensive Development and Utilization of offshore Islands Energy”, which was jointly declared by NENU and national ocean technology center, won the second prize. The core content of the project, which is ” Key Technologies of the High Reliable Operation of Islands and Coastal Wind Power”, was presided over and accomplished by Associate Professor Xu Mingqi from the School of Physics, NENU.
Approved and established by national ministry of science and technology and national science and technology awards office in 2011, the ocean engineering science and technology award is the only science and technology reward in the field of national ocean engineering. It is designed to encourage marine science and technology innovation and to commend outstanding science and technology workers and units in the field of ocean engineering basic research, technology development and application. The 2013 ocean engineering science and technology award appraised one special prize, 7 first prizes ad 19 second prizes.
