Recently, the representative team one made up of Huang Kangli and Pan Jialiang, undergraduates of grade 2010 from the School of Foreign Languages of NENU (instructed by the foreign teacher Russ and Doctor Liu Honggang, a teacher in English department) received the first prize, which has been the best result since NENU’s participation in the contest. Besides, the representative team two made up of Bai Jinyu and Qin Shijia, undergraduates of grade 2011 received the third prize.
FLTRP Cup National Debating Contest is hosted by FLTRP (Foreign Language Teaching and Research Publishing House). Representative teams from nearly 800 colleges and universities have taken part in the contest since its foundation in 1997.The “FLTRP CUP” National English Debating Competition initiated in 1997 is the largest and widest national English debating event in China. The 2014 FLTRP CUP National English Debating Competition is jointly hosted by the School Department of Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, National Students’ Federation and Beijing Foreign Studies University, coordinated by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and China Educational Television. Over 200 competitors from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and mainland participated in the contest.
