From December 22nd to December 31st, 2014, the "2014 Winter Cultural Exchange Camp for Hong Kong - Mainland University Students" was successfully held in NENU. Eighty five students from the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, Lingnan University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Education and NENU attended this activity. The Vice-president Han Dongyu attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
In the 10-day activity, the students from Hongkong and NENU visited the two campuses of NENU to understand the developmental process of NENU. Sports tournament was organized, which have enhanced the friendship between them. The students also attended the lecture, named "Northeast Regional Culture", experienced the traditional paper-cut art, and visited the Puppet Emperor's Palace, the Northeast National Folk Museum, Shaman Culture Museum, Changchun Film Museum ice and snow sculpture in Harbin, which have better experienced and understood the history and culture of the northeastern region.
