On January 9th, the 2014 National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held at Beijing Great Hall of the People. The Party and state leaders, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan, Zhang Gaoli and so on, attended the meeting, and presented the awards for the winners. The finished project, namely, "the design and synthesis of function-oriented polyacid", leaded by Professor Wang Enbo of NENU, won the second prize of the State Natural Science Award. This is the second time that NENU has won such a prize which marks a major breakthrough in the field of basic studies and applied studies of NENU, The first prize is attributed to the project, "large dimensional random matrix theory and its applications", leaded by Professor Bai Zhidong from School of Mathematics and Statistics, which won the second prize of 2012 National Natural Science Award,
