On May 14th, 2016 "Volvo Cup" table tennis team competition between NENU facultywas officially opened. Wang Yan, deputy secretary general of the party committee of NENU, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Around 200 faculty from 23 departments of the university took part in the competition. Eventually, the School of Ethnic Education was awarded the gold medal in men's games and the School of Fine Arts silver medal. The School of Life Science and Team 1 from the High School Attached to Northeast Normal University won bronze medals.
In women's games, the School of Foreign Languages got the first place, followed by Preparatory School for Chinese Students to Japan and Academic Journal Office of NENU in the second and third places, respectively.
