On September 2nd, a grand opening ceremony of 2017 freshmen and gave the first lesson in enrollment education was held in the comprehensive gymnasium in NENU. NENU leaders including Yang Xiaohui, Liu Yichun, Wang Yan, Ma Xiaoyan, Guo Jianhua, Gao Hang as well as president assistants Chang Qing and Xue Lifeng all attended the ceremony.
The president Liu Yichun firstly gave a speech. He expressed his sincere congratulations and warm welcome to the 2017 freshmen on behalf of the university and shared his thoughts from his perspective about NENU --- a university full of "histories and stories","hopes and promises" and "warmth and feelings". He hoped that the students could seriously examine themselves, learn to choose, plan and design their own college life; learn to study and think independently, to respect and create, to hold perseverance in the pursuit of excellence; to be grateful to take the responsibility, and finally to become a person with a sense of responsibility and mission.
Finally, the opening ceremony came to an end with the school song sung by all the teachers and students. Afterwards, the president, Professor Liu Yichun prepared the 2017 freshmen some classic books as a school gift, and set the theme of "how to become a good student" for all freshmen on the first lesson in enrollment education.
