Recently, Yang Xiaohui, Secretary General of NENU's Party Committee, was invited to visit Kyung Hee University and Dong-A University in the Republic of Korea, accompanied by relevant leaders from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Physical Education.
Founded in 1949, Kyung Hee University is a famous comprehensive university. Kyung Hee University is one of the earliest Korean universities which NENU established friendly relations with and it signed MOU with NENU in 1994. Dong-A University was founded in 1946 and set up Confucius Institute with NENU in 2006. After more than ten years of construction, the Confucius Institute made great achievements. It was established as a typical model by the Office of Chinese Language Council International and awarded the title of "Advanced Confucius Institute Worldwide" in 2016.
During the visit to Kyung Hee University, the delegation met Han Kyuntae, vice President of Kyung Hee University, as well as relevant leaders from its Office Teaching Administration, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the Institute of Education. The two sides reached an agreement on cooperation in tourism management and education. In addition, they made further discussions on other issues concerned.
During the visit to Dong-A University, the delegation met Han Seokjung, President of the university, as well as relevant leaders of the Confucius Institute, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and School of Physical Education. Both sides reviewed the process of development and achievements of the Confucius Institute. Besides, they made a scientific plan for its future development. Taking the Confucius Institute as a link, Dong-A University and NENU made a consensus in deepening the exchanges and cooperation in some majors such as Chinese, international trade, sports.
The visit further promoted NENU's cooperation with universities in the Republic of Korea, developed the linking role Confucius Institutes play in NENU's foreign cooperation and exchange and established a new way of academic exchanges, scientific research and joint training for NENU's faculty and students.
