Recently, the 7th Wu Yuzhang Award of Humanities and Social Sciences was announced and Professor Guo Dantong from the School of History and Culture of NENU won the Excellence Award with The Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Literature: Translation and Annotation (Volumes I,Ⅱ,Ⅲ).
As a nationwide award, Wu Yuzhang Award of Humanities and Social Sciences was founded in 1983. It is mainly used to reward the outstanding achievements of humanities and social sciences in China and has become one of the most influential non-governmental organizations in the field of humanities and social sciences. It is reported that this year the Wu Yuzhang Foundation has received 1839 recommendations nationwide and 53 of them won the awards, the award rate only being 2.8%.
The Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Literature: Translation and Annotation is the first translation version of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs into Chinese and it made detailed annotations to the translated text. Owing to the complexity and large quantity of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs literature, The Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic Literature: Translation and Annotation (Volumes I,Ⅱ,Ⅲ) was divided into the literature with practical use and that without practical use from the perspective of practicability, with a total number of 97.
