The School of Geographical Sciences of NENU held the Forum on Theory and Practice of Regional Economics in Northeast China from December 2nd to 3rd. 12 top scholars in this field from Peking University, Renmin University, Nankai University, Jilin University, Lanzhou University and other domestic universities gathered in Changchun and discussed the development and practice of China's regional economics of the new era. Professor Han Dongyu, Vice-President of NENU, Professor Wang Zhanren, Director of the Department of Social Sciences and Professor Wang Shengzhong, Party Secretary General of the School of Geographical Sciences attended the opening ceremony.
During the forum, 9 invited scholars made academic lectures for teachers and students. The nine academic lectures have different themes, including both theoretical explorations and practical investigations. However, they concentrated on important issues in China's regional economics of the new era. At the same time, they focused on the urgent needs of national strategies and local development. They emphasized that both theory and practice should be taken equal and fully embodied the discipline characteristics of regional economics.
This forum is the first activity of "Northeast High-end Forum" founded by NENU's discipline of regional economics. It not only broadens our academic horizons, but also fully demonstrates NENU’s achievements of regional economics in recent years by exchanging ideas with first-class scholars.
