Recently, the research team of Professor Wei Min and associate Professor Feng Yunpeng of School of Life Sciences made important progress in the regulation of tumor cell metabolism reprogramming mechanism. With the title of "O-GlcNAcylation destabilizes the active tetrameric PKM2 to promote the Warburg effect", the relevant research results were published in the famous international journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, PNAS on December 11th.
The first affiliation of the paper is Northeast Normal University, with Wang Yang, Liu Jia and Jin Xin, doctoral students of School of Life Sciences as the joint first authors, and Professor Wei Min as the corresponding author. This paper indicates that the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education of Molecular Epigenetics has reached a new level in the field of molecular mechanism of protein post-translational modification and regulation of cell malignant transformation. It is also another landmark achievement made by the School of Life Sciences in promoting the construction of biology as the first-level discipline.
