On April 19th, the first report session of the "Modern Science Exploration - Scientists on Campus" sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee and organized by the School of Chemistry was held in the lecture hall on the third floor of the Student Employment Guidance Service Center. Academician Ma Shengmingof the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of the Developing Countries and professor at the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University visited NENU and gave a report titled ThePast, Present and Future of Allene.
In the report, Academician Ma Shengming recalled the development history of the Nobel Prize in chemistry and took the example of the unique organic compound of allene.Starting from the purpose of scientific research and combined with his own teaching experience and practice in scientific research, he elaborated the seriousness and practicality of the scientific research. Academician Ma Shengming believed that scientific research should be based on lofty, practical, rigorous, persistent and future-oriented attitude. He hoped that young teachers and students in the process of scientific research could uphold the scientific spirit, improve professional standards, diligent and devoted to forge a life of scientific research.
After the report was completed, Academician Ma Shengming answered questions from the teachers and students on the scene. His profound knowledge of self-cultivation, simple explanations, and humorous language won applause from teachers and students of NENU.
