Invited by Dong-A University of the Republic of Korea (ROK),10 people from NENU's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and East Asia Institute visited ROK and participated in the International Symposium on "Knowledge in Mind, Searching for Path——the Exploration of the East Asian Civilization Community in the Era of Big Data" from April 27th to 28th. The symposium was co-organized by the Confucius Institute of Dong-A University, Northeast Normal University and Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban). More than 100 scholars from the Confucius Institute of Dong-A University and the East Asia Institute attended the conference.
At the conference, Professor Han Dongyu, vice president of our university, gave a keynote lecture on the history and culture of East Asia, modern international relations and the cultural exchanges. Professor Liu Xiaodong, Professor Diao Shuren and Professor Han Binna from the School of History and Culture of NENU have made speeches respectively on relevant issues and exchanged ideas with their counterparts in ROK.
During the conference, Professor Zhang Shixun, Dean of the East Asia Institute of Dong-A University, and Professor Han Dongyu, Dean of the East Asia Institute of NENU, reached a consensus around the academic development of the Confucius Institute platform between the two universities, inter-school exchanges and mutual visits between teachers and students, and attended the MOU signing ceremony.
