Hosted by our university, sponsored by China Association for Science and Technology, China-Russia International Conference and Young Scientists Forum on Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Development was held from July 2nd to 3rd. Vladimir Kosolapov, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Feng Jiang, president of Jilin Agricultural University, Professor Han Dongyu, vice president of NENU, and Professor Sheng Lianxi, former secretary general of the Party Committee of NENU, attended the opening ceremony. More than 200 scholars and graduate students from universities at home and abroad and relevant institutions such as the Russian People's Friendship University, the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow University, Beijing Normal University, Jilin University, and the Jilin Provincial Museum of Natural History attended the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Wang Deli, dean of the School of Environment.
Professor Han Dongyu, Academician Vladimir Kosolapov and Professor Feng Jiang delivered speeches respectively at the conference. More than 30 Chinese and foreign scholars made reports and had discussions revolving the four themes of grassland ecology and management, animal ecology and conservation, wetland ecology and management, and ecological restoration and security. Finally, young science and technology personnel and graduate students discussed issues such as risk assessment, environmental protection, and biodiversity conservation, and selected 5 outstanding graduate reports at the Young Scientists Forum.
