Hosted by the Publicity Department of Jilin Provincial Party Committee, Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Committee of the 14th China Changchun Film Festival, undertaken by the Periodical Office of Literature and Art Forum and the School of Media Science (School of Journalism) of NENU, the Academic Forum of "Fiction to Film: Transformation and Generation of Artistic Forms" was convened on September 8th. Wang Xiaoping, Director of the Committee of the 14th China Changchun Film Festival and head of the Publicity Department of Jilin Provincial Party Committee, attended the forum and delivered a speech.
Wang Xiaoping said that the forum aimed to bring together the strengths of scholars in the field of literary and film studies in China, to cultivate new forces in the development of Chinese films and Jilin films in the new era, to enrich the profound connotation and cultural tradition of the film city, to build a film and literature exchange platform that benefits the northeast and radiates the whole country, to provide advice and suggestions for the development of Jilin culture, to cultivate the spiritual strength for the revitalization of Jilin culture, and to contribute to the development and prosperity of the national literature and art undertakings.
The main topics of the forum were "New Possibilities of the Film Development in the New Era" and "How to Transform Fictions into Films". Experts and scholars discussed the topics such as the relationship between fiction and film, the difficulties and limitations of adapting fictions to films, the new development of contemporary film aesthetics and the new possibilities of film development in the new era.
