Minister of Education and Culture of Uruguay and Her Delegation Visited NENU

On April 13, Maria Julia Munoz, Minister of Education and Culture of Uruguay, visited NENU. Eduardo Manta, Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Presidential Palace of Uruguay, Alvaro Munbro, Vice-President of the University of the Republic of Uruguay, Rudolph Silvera, President of the Council of the University of Science and Technology of Uruguay, Rafael Alvarisha, Director of the International Relations Department, Sergio Delaware, Secretary of the Embassy of Uruguay in China, and Jose Luis Repelto, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences visited NENU along with her.

Yang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Party Committee of NENU, met with the guests. During the talk, Yang Xiaohui introduced to the guests the history and the tradition of NENU as well as the construction of key disciplines, focusing on the characteristics of NENU’s achievements in teacher education at the international level, Chinese language teaching and foreign student training. He said that since the start of the "double first-class" disciplines construction, NENU has been keeping pace with the times, attaching importance to international exchanges and cooperation, constantly expanding the development of disciplines, and has achieved fruitful results on the basis of the original disciplinary advantages.

Subsequently, Minister Munoz briefed the participants on the key arrangements of Uruguay's education and culture, focusing on the exchanges with the academic community, expressing his intention to cooperate with NENU in the development of teacher education and training, and Uruguayan students to study in China for further study, and conducting in-depth exchanges on reducing the dropout rate and improving the teacher evaluation system. After the meeting, Minister Munoz and her delegation visited Naru, a Uruguayan student of NENU.

Zhang Jingping, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange, Li Sunshine, Director of Science and Technology, and Jin Xiaoyan, Director of International Han College of NENU, attended the meeting.
