Teachers in NENU’s Conservatory of Music Invited to Pyongyang, DPRK for Cultural Performances

On February 19th, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism sent a delegation to Pyongyang,  DPRK to participate in a 7-day activity named "Happy Spring Festival in Pyongyang" at the invitation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Jin Yong, China's famous Korean tenor singer, national first-level actor, and associate professor of NENU’s Conservatory of Music, visited Pyongyang as a member of the delegation.

On the evening of February 19th, Jilin Provincial Cultural Delegation performed wonderful programs in the "Dinner for New Year Eve on the Way" held by the Chinese Embassy in DPRK, and Jin Yong sang the songs like "My Motherland and I ". On February 20th, the "Happy Spring Festival in Pyongyang" cultural performance was held in Beacon Theater of Pyongyang City. Jin Yong was the host and he sang "My Sun", "I Love You China", and the Korean folk song “The Sincere Wish” and other well-liked songs. The sonorous and inspiring songs were well-received by the audience. In addition, Jin Yong and the members of the delegation also showed and introduced traditional Chinese food and intangible cultural heritage through cultural exchange activities such as the "Taedong River Spring Festival Temple Fair", and experienced the splendid Chinese culture with people of DPRK and friends from all over the world.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Foreign Cultural Liaison Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and the DPRK-China Friendship Association. Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism invited more than 40 artists including famous dancers, instrumentalists and singers from Jilin Province to form Jilin Provincial Cultural Delegation. As a friendly art ambassador, the delegation conveyed the unique charm of Chinese culture and the friendship of the Chinese people to the people of DPRK. The CCTV news channel, China Youth Daily, China Daily and other media reported the event.
