Recently, a 300kw horizontal axis tidal power generating unit, which is a major special project of the State Oceanic Administration, was successfully launched and connected to the grid in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, under the joint responsibility of Hangzhou Jianghe Hydropower Technology Co., Ltd. and NENU. The project has passed the site and the conference acceptance organized by the Energy Management Center of the Ministry of Land and Resources smoothly. It has successfully developed the horizontal axis self-variable pitch direct drive external rotor unit with the largest capacity in Asia by adopting the unique key technology of NENU. It has cooperated vigorously with other domestic units such as Zhejiang University and the National Ocean Technology Center. Professor Chen Jianmei of School of Physics has guided the construction of the main project of the power generation device over a period of more than one month at sea, and presided over the installation and commissioning of the electronic control part.
The successful grid-connected power generation and successful acceptance of the project have further established the leading position of NENU in the field of marine energy development and utilization.
