On December 11th, NENU held the “Chinese Teacher Development Report (2020-2021)” results release conference and the academic forum on the professional happiness of primary and secondary school teachers. Huang Xiaohua, deputy director of the Teacher Work Department of the Ministry of Education, Wang Zhong, director of the Education Department of Jilin Province, Chen Liang, deputy general manager of Science Press, Gao Xianghui, secretary of the Party Committee of Liaoning Institute of Education, and Wang Yan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of NENU attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Xu Haiyang, the vice president of NENU.
At the meeting, Huang Xiaohua spoke highly of the report, saying that the report ,based on the new needs of educational development in the new era, deeply demonstrates the current situation of the professional happiness of teachers in ourcountry, and provides a strong realistic practice for the country to formulate high-quality teacher education development strategies. Wang Zhong pointed out that the report provides practical basis and theoretical guidance for our country, especially for teacher education reform in Jilin Province, and is an important think tank consultation for the development of future teacher education development policies in Jilin Province and across the country as well. Wang Yan summarized the achievements of the “Chinese Teacher Development Report 2019” and gave a well-deserved recognition to the theoretical value of the “Chinese Teacher Development Report (2020-2021)”on building high-quality teacher education system in the new era and high-quality professional teacher teams in our country.
Subsequently, Professor Li Guang, executive dean of the Teacher Education Research Institute of NENU, unveiled the report research results, including academic monographs, high-level papers, kits and resource libraries, practical results and social services. The main members of the research team included nine experts including Liu Haimin and Li Guang. Professor Liu Haimin reviewed the “Chinese Teacher Development Report (2020-2021)” from the perspective of high-quality development, and other members respectively reported on topics related to teacher professional happiness.
In the expert comment and exchange session, Deng Youchao, researcher of the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences, Meng Fanhua, secretary of the Party Committee of Capital Normal University, Zhong Yinghua, president of Tianjin Normal University, Li Sen, vice president of Hainan Normal University, and Zhou Bin, dean of College of Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, East China Normal University, and fourteen experts including Yu Hongliang, vice president of the newspapers and periodical “Curriculum,Teaching Material and Method”, attended and gave commentary speeches. This session was presided over by Zhu Xudong, director of the Faculty of Education of Beijing Normal University. Bai Bing, director of the Department of Social Sciences of NENU, summarized the content of the first half of the meeting.
In the afternoon academic forum, Song Wei, director of the Institute of Teacher Education of Beijing Normal University, Professor Li Hongxiu of the Faculty of Education of Tianjin Normal University, Associate Professor Deng Tao and Associate Professor Zhang Cong of the Faculty of Education of NENU respectively served as academic moderators. 19 master and doctoral postgraduates gave special reports on the current situation, influencing factors, and improvement paths of teachers’ professional happiness.
The “Chinese Teacher Development Report (2020-2021)” is an important manifestation of NENU’s insistence on “serving the basic education”. It takes the professional happiness of primary and secondary school teachers in our country as the starting point, objectively presents the development trend, proposes effective strategies, predicts and analyzes the future development.
