Recently, the 7th National Solid-State Battery Symposium was successfully held in Changchun. This meeting was hosted by the Solid Ion Branch of the Chinese Ceramic Society, and undertaken by the solid-state battery collaborative innovation platform of NENU, the China-Korea (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and Jilin Province Dongchi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The conference invited experts and scholars from across the country in this field and went live simultaneously online and offline. The theme of this conference centered on the basics, applications and frontier issues of solid-state battery technology development, and in-depth discussions on the opportunities, challenges and future development directions facing the field of solid-state batteries. The purpose of the conference is to strengthen scientific research cooperation and the transformation of results, and actively promote the rapid development of solid-state batteries in China. Academician Liu Yichun, the president of NENU, attended the opening ceremony and gave an important speech. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Xie Haiming, from solid-state battery collaborative innovation platform of NENU.
Liu Yichun focused on the main achievements of NENU’s solid-state battery collaborative innovation platform in solid-state batteries, and welcomed all the guests present and congratulated the successful convening of the conference. Academician Li Jinghong of Tsinghua University and researcher Wen Zhaoyin, chairman of the Solid State Ion Branch, were invited to give opening speeches respectively. Li Jinghong emphasized that solid-state batteries are the top priority of future technological development, the commanding heights of the integration of technology and industry, and the key point of regional economic development. Only when we take the lead in seizing the initiative can we become a “leader” in the world. At the meeting, he also encouraged young scientific and technological workers to pull together, hoping that more companies can regard solid-state batteries as a new investment direction to accelerate the commercialization of solid-state batteries. Wen Zhaoyin believes that the solid-state battery symposium held in Changchun is of great significance. Changchun is the cradle of China’s automobile industry, with China’s first automobile, first sedan, first railway vehicle, first tram, first subway train, and first magnetic levitation train all born here. Changchun is also an important node city on the northern route of the “Belt and Road”. He believes that solid-state batteries will start from Changchun to a new beginning and create new brilliance.
The conference specially invited Academician Sun Xueliang of the University of Western Ontario, Canada, Researcher Wen Zhaoyin of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Li Hong of Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Yang Yong of Xiamen University, Researcher Cui Guanglei of Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhang Qiang of Tsinghua University, and Professor Xie Haiming from NENU to give a report on the basic research and application of solid-state battery design, interface optimization, and metal lithium anode. Through voting by the conference panel, a total of 10 young scholars won the Excellent Poster Award.
This conference showcased our country’s latest progress in the key science and technology of high-energy density and high-safety solid-state batteries, and demonstrated our country’s scientific layout in the industrialization of solid-state batteries. It is a grand event in the field of solid-state batteries in China. The meeting established a high-quality cooperation and exchange platform for government, industry, university, research and application, which has a positive and far-reaching significance for the rapid development of our country’s solid-state battery industrialization.
