Recently, the results of the re-evaluation of the “7th National Youth Art Exhibition” sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the All-China Youth Federation and the China Artists Association were unveiled. The teachers and students of the Fine Arts Academy of NENU won great results again. 9 works of young teachers, doctoral and master students were selected for this exhibition, and 2 of them were directly selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition. This time is after the 13th National Art Exhibition (25 works were selected and won awards) and the 2nd National Collegiate Student Art Exhibition (9 works were selected), NENU’ s teachers and students have won gratifying results again in the national art exhibition.
Since 1957, the National Youth Art Exhibition has been held for seven times. The National Youth Art Exhibition, the National Art Exhibition held every five years, and the Beijing International Art Biennale are listed as the three most important national-level comprehensive art exhibitions hosted by the China Artists Association. In this National Youth Art Exhibition, a total of 397 works across the country were finally selected through re-evaluation. The exhibition aims to show the achievements created by the youth, advocate the diversification of artistic innovation, reflect the national spirit and the spirit of the times, cultivate and support young artists, inspire young artists to create more excellent works, train more high-quality art talents , and promote the high-quality development of the art industry.
Finally selected were the sculpture “Our Team to the Sun” by Sun Yan, associate professor of NENU; “Golden Camel Road” by teacher Wang Yuanpeng and associate professor Li Xinhui; “Lifeblood” by Sun Jie, a 2020 graduate student of the Department of Sculpture; and “Standing Together in the Storm” by Liu Zhiyuan, a 2019 graduate student of the Department of Sculpture. Among them “Our Team to the Sun” and “Lifeblood” were directly selected for the 14th National Art Exhibition. Other works selected in this exhibition were the oil painting “China’s Battle Against Covid-19” by teacher Xu Le; oil painting “Night·Stadium” by Zhao Yong, a 2019 graduate student in the Department of Oil Painting; Chinese painting work “Melting” by Zhang Wenjie, a 2019 graduate student in the Department of Chinese Painting, comprehensive material painting “Urban Variations”by teacher Xia Jinghan; and comprehensive material painting “Homeland” by Tan Liming, a 2018 doctoral student.
In this exhibition, the number of selected works made by teachers and students of the Fine Arts Academy of NENU has reached a new height, which indicates that the innovative ability of teachers and students has continued to scale up, and the effectiveness of discipline construction and the quality of talent training have continued to rise.
