On April 23rd, the semi-finals and finals of the 14th National Russian Competition for College Students, hosted by the Ministry of Education and undertaken by Dalian University of Foreign Languages held online. The members of the Russian Sub-Committee of the Foreign Language and Literature Teaching Guiding Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Organizing Committee of the Competition, the Judging Panel, members of the Supervisory Committee, and the representative teams of various colleges and universities gathered online to participate in this national Russian event. Tan Yanchi, a 2020 undergraduate student of the School of Foreign Languages of NENU (instructor: Prof. Xuan Zhiyin), achieved the ninth national ranking and won the second prize in the junior grade group. The professor Xuan Zhiyin won the Outstanding Instructor Award.
The National Russian Competition for College Students is the highest-level comprehensive Russian competition in the country, which examines students’ comprehensive skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation, with the widest range and the largest number of contestants. A total of 390 students from 150 colleges and universities across the country participated in this competition. After the preliminary competition (in October, 2021), a total of 60 students in the junior group, senior group and graduate group were shortlisted. In the two-day semi-finals and finals, they fought for the awards respectively in these three groups.
