Special love in the special epidemic period. Since static management has been implemented on campus, a group of people have always been by our side, working hard and tirelessly. They are the versatile “counselors” in the heart of students.
Behave themselves Actively, Light Students Warmly
Gao Xin is a part-time counselor for 2020 graduate students of the Conservatory of Music of NENU, and a full-time teacher of choreography in the Conservatory of Music. During the critical period of epidemic prevention and control in Changchun City, he took the initiative to be a volunteer, brought warmth and strength to everyone with a positive and optimistic attitude, patiently solved various problems of the students, and shouldered the responsibilities of a teacher with practical actions. In the early days of the closure of the campus, he made statistical overview of the situation of all master and doctoral students in the Conservatory of Music in a timely manner, and paid attention to the daily life of the quarantined students. When the epidemic situation got severe, he insisted on visiting each dormitory every day to appease the nervousness of the students. After the static management started, he created a DingTalk group named “Happiness is like a flower”. He collected statistics and released news in the group, and regularly organized students to hold meetings in the group to encourage everyone to maintain a good state of study and life. He always stuck to his front-line position to serve everyone, carrying supplies and distributing lunches. He is affectionately called by the students “Boss of Lunches and Dinners Lao Gao”. In response to the problem of stamping the employment agreement of graduate students, he worked hard, contacted the person in charge in Ziyou campus and coordinated many times, and finally borrowed a color printing machine to solve the problem of stamping. For students who are not on campus, he called them one by one, shared locations, and made regular inquires about the status of students at home. He set an example for the students with practical actions, and the students all said: “With a counselor like Teacher Gao, we all feel extremely happy and at ease.”
Show the True Quality in Times of Crisis, the Harder Things Get, the More Solid Steps We Must Take to Push forward
The epidemic outbreaks arose suddenly, Li Xingzhe, a 2021 undergraduate counselor of the School of Physics of NENU, stepped into the campus without hesitation and became a glorious resident counselor to overcome the difficulties together with thousands of teachers and students. He turned his office into a bedroom with just a simple mattress. Since then, he went out early and returned late, continuing to dedicate himself. Li Xingzhe hold several posts simultaneously, including the college aid officer, psychological counselor, member of the temporary party branch of the fifth dormitory, etc., but he can complete all of these in a well-planned order and he takes care of the students’lives in every possible way. It is his greatest joy to solve the problems that troubled the students. In his work against the epidemic, what impressed him most was sending emergency medicines, luggage to students every night, and even taking students who were in urgent condition to the hospital. Every time I help my students “head off a danger”, I walk on the empty campus road at night, even though the cold wind is blowing, my heart is still warm!
We show the true quality in times of crisis, and the harder things get, the more solid steps we must take to push forward. As a member of the Communist Party, Li Xingzhe’s most common catch phrase is “I am a brick of socialism, I will move wherever I am needed!”. The sweat-soaked clothes are proof that he rushed to the front again and again, obeying the command and order is his personal response to the Party’s call! We believe that with so many teachers and staff who are fighting for the students on the front line like Teacher Li Xingzhe, NENU will overcome the dark days and welcome the blooming Spring.
Courage to Take Responsibilities, Not Afraid of Difficulties
Under the severe situation of the epidemic, when the horn for implementing the close management on campus sounded, Feng Danyang, a 2020 graduate counselor of the School of Chemistry, charged on the front line of the fight against the epidemic, shouldered her love and responsibility for students. In the work against the epidemic, she stuck to her post, did everything by her own hands, and didn’t dare any difficulties, and had the courage to take responsibility. When the epidemic broke out, Teacher Feng Danyang had not been vaccinated due to physical reasons, but she did not hesitate to pack her luggage and rushed to the front line of NENU’s anti-epidemic work fearlessly. Whether it’s driving students to the school hospital or delivering supplies to the quarantine area, she always puts the safety and needs of the students first without any hesitation.
In the eyes of the students, she is a “nagging mother”. “The weather is changeable, you need to wear more.”, “Don’t worry, the medicine will be delivered soon.”, “I am online 24 hours a day and keep in touch at any time.”... Her friendly voice always echoed in the ears of the students, giving the consolation and warmth to students silently, and dispelled the “haze” brought by the epidemic for them. She hold multiple jobs and shouldered her responsibilities, such as being a logistics staff, couriers, and psychological consultants, she took care of students’ minds and bodies in an all-round way. One day at noon, in order not to delay the students’ meal, she hurriedly went out but fell and hurt her waist. But that night, with tears in her eyes, she still drove around to deliver supplies. She loves to laugh, to talk to students, and to be needed by students. In this war without gunpowder smoke, she dedicated herself and built a warm “safety barrier” for the students she loved.
We help each other under the epidemic. The counselors have given us the warmest protection. Here, I would like to express sincere gratitude to the teachers who have dedicated themselves: Thank you for your hard work!
