Special love in the special epidemic period. Since static management has been implemented on campus, a group of people have always been by our side, working hard and tirelessly. They are the versatile “counselors” in the heart of students.
After the Storm, the Sun Must Be Seen
“Students, it’s time for NAT.”, “Dear students, let’s hold an online meeting later.”, “Students, the meals are ready.”, “Okay, no problem”... This may be the most common words said by Yang Shuai, the counselor of the Conservatory of Music since the epidemic. During the epidemic prevention and control period, I believe that everyone can always see a dynamic counselor shuttle through the campus of Jingyue Campus. From the confusion when he first entered the school, to be ordered to become the head of Building B of Qiuhua Apartment, he has never flinched. In the face of complicated tasks such as drug purchase and distribution, information statistics and summary of daily meals, meal distribution, nucleic acid testing, material purchase and delivery, he always completed every link efficiently and seriously. When he was tired, he always believed that only when he was full of energy could students be more confident in overcoming the epidemic. Therefore, in Qiuhua Apartment, students can always find a “big white” teacher Yang, who is full of enthusiasm and vitality. For fear of missing his students’messages, he never dared to mute his phone. Even in the middle of the night, as long as the message alert sounded, he had to check it before falling asleep. Dozens of days and nights rushing by to fight the epidemic and protect the students, Teacher Yang Shuai has always believed in the words he told the students in every meeting: “After the storm, the sun must be seen.”
Where the Students are, Where you can Find me
Zhao Lin is a full-time counselor at the Conservatory of Music. Whenever she talks about her work in the school during the anti-epidemic period, she always smiles and says, “Never mind, it is what I should do.” Then she devoted herself to the complicated work. Since serving as the deputy secretary of the temporary party branch of Qiuhua Apartment, with 980 undergraduates in Qiuhua Apartment, she has always kept in mind “two perspectives of transpositional consideration”- If I am a student, what do I want the teacher to do for me; If I am the parent of the students, how do I want the teacher to treat my child. Although most of the students in this building were not her own students, she still established a profound “revolutionary friendship” with her students. In many cases, when students encounter problems, they will contact the “deputy head of the building” as soon as possible. After more than 50 days of getting along, the students have spent more time spending with Zhao Lin than with their own counselors. The emotional connection also added a lot of warmth to Qiuhua Apartment. Sometimes students will silently send down two oranges they have saved, sometimes a dormitory will gather a pocket of snacks and stuff to give her when taking meals, and sometimes students will discuss career planning and future development with her. She listened carefully to the demands of the students, answered their doubts in detail, and fully respected and considered the feelings of the students to the extent permitted by the epidemic prevention and control requirements. Every time she was too tired to work, it was these “two perspectives of transpositional consideration” that reminded her of the expectant eyes of students and the ardent expectations of every family, which became the driving force for her to continue to persevere.
Fight against COVID-19 with “Art” along with Love
In the face of the severe epidemic, Li Xing, secretary of the Youth League Committee, who had just been transferred to the Conservatory of Music for two months, took the initiative to stay on campus, and resolutely devoted himself to the battle against the epidemic on campus, guarding the safety of the 688 undergraduates, masters and Ph.D students of the Conservatory of Music and 980 people in Qiuhua Apartment. During the day, he is the hero in harm’s way running around in Qiuhua Apartment, participating in the delivery of meals and medicines, nucleic acid testing, distribution of tests, and delivery of supplies; At night, he became an escort for the students, conducted statistics and information, and researched and developed apps. In order to provide students with musical instruments urgently needed for postgraduate entrance exams, he became a porter. At night, he carried the piano, guzheng, and dulcimer together with his fellows in the work group, and delivered the heavy but hopeful musical instruments to the students.
In order to maintain the order of dining in a canteen, Li Xing organized a volunteer team composed of 107 students in 7 apartments, issued passes and epidemic prevention materials in three shifts a day, and led a group of “Little Red Riding Hoods” to safeguard the campus with their footsteps covering the snow-covered time to the flower-blooming season. In order to help the students record this special volunteer experience, he used his professional expertise to produce and edit a commemorative video of the fight against the epidemic on campus, and wished to show this to the students as a gift after the epidemic ended. He believed that day would come soon.
We help each other in the epidemic. The counselors have given us the warmest protection. Here, I would like to express sincere gratitude to the teachers who have dedicated themselves: Thank you for your hard work!
