On May 24th, on the occasions of the National Science and Technology Week and International Biodiversity Day, the Museum of Natural History, along with many mainstream new media platforms such as CCTV and China Science Communication, held the “Museum of Natural History-Take You on a Journey of Biodiversity Exploration” live activity on the theme of “Biodiversity Show”. The content of this live was recommended on the homepage of the CCTV video platform, and nearly 5,000 people watched the live and actively participated in the interactive Q&A with prizes.
During the activity, the main creators of the basic exhibition of the Museum of Natural History through online exhibition led the public to approach the exhibition areas of “Charm of the Forest”, “Soul of the Mountain”, “Butterfly Valley”, “Spirit of Birds”, “Interest of Beasts” and “Fossil World”, which not only allows the public to appreciate the lifelike natural specimens in the collection, but also allows the public to appreciate the rich biodiversity knowledge through in-depth interpretation of the stories behind the exhibition.
During the National Science and Technology Week and International Biodiversity Day in 2022, under the guidance of the Science and Technology and Finance Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Ecology and Environment Science Base Management Office - the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and Northeast Normal University Museum of Natural History and other 8 national ecological environment science popularization bases jointly launched a series of activities of “Biodiversity Show”. From May 21st to May 28th, the activity will be live through many mainstream new media such as CCTV, ChinaScience Communication, China Association for Science and Technology Youth Center and Science and Technology Review etc., and successively introduce biodiversity stories of national nature reserves such as city parks, natural museums and tropical rainforests, together to welcome the second phase of the 15th Conference of the Parties(COP15) held in Kunming, China.
