Recently, Academician Liu Yichun, President of NENU, wrote an article on the “Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force in the New Era” issued by the Ministry of Education, with the title of “University Mission and Government Responsibilities of the ‘Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force’”, and expressed relevant opinions. From the three parts of “Connotation of ‘Strengthening Teachers Force’ in the ‘Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force’”, “normal Universities’ Mission in the ‘Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force’”, and “Government Responsibilities in the ‘Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force’”, this article demonstrates the way that normal universities leads the innovative development of teacher education and responds to the major strategic concerns of national teacher team construction. This article will be published in the fourth issue of “Educational Research” in 2022.
Previously, the Ministry of Education, in conjunction with relevant ministries and commissions, issued this plan to make a comprehensive deployment on how to speed up the construction of China’s basic education teachers. Focusing on the implementation of the “Plan to Strengthen Basic Education Teacher Force”, under the organization of the Department of Teacher Work of the Ministry of Education, the responsible comrades of some normal colleges and experts and scholars who have long been engaged in teacher education research conducted in-depth discussions and researches on the construction of teacher education teams and the mission of teacher education.
