Recently, “the Meeting of American History and Cultural Studies from an Interdisciplinary Perspective and the 19th Annual Meeting of the American History Research Association of China” was held at Hunan Normal University, and more than 270 scholars attended the meeting.
American History Research Association of China is a national first-level professional association registered in Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. According to articles of the Association, this meeting is held for the general election of Board of Directors of the Association. Professor Liang Maoxin from Institute of American Studies, School of History and Culture, NENU, was elected as Chairman of American History Research Association of China again, with a four-year term.
This shows that the American history research of NENU has won the full acknowledgement and support of domestic colleagues. Since the foundation of the Association in 1979, two chairmen and three vice chairmen were graduates from NENU majoring in American history during the past more than 40 years except for Professor Ding Zemin, a scholar from the older generation.
