Published:April 4, 2023 Review:

On April 2nd, the Natural History Museum of NENU and Changchun Science and Technology Association jointly held the “Looking for ‘Unusual’ Herbs-Collection of Herb Specimens Exhibition” in the Natural History Museum. Present at the opening ceremony were Wang Yuchun, vice chairman of Changchun Science and Technology Association, Ai Chunming, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of NENU and director of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee, and some others who are in charge of the Natural Museum.

This exhibition mainly showcases the specimens and pictures of more than 100 common herbs in Changchun city, which are divided into three categories: terrestrial herbs, aquatic herbs and invasive herbs, and comprehensively introduces the morphological characteristics, growth habits and the whole process of germination, sprouting, flowering and fruiting of these herbs. Most of the pictures are used for the first time in exhibition including some by professional teachers in the Natural Museum during the 20 years’ continuous phenological observation, as well as plant pictures taken by professors in the field research work of the School of Life Sciences of NENU. The exhibition is scheduled to last for two months. The Natural History Museum also held a plant pasting activity with the theme of welcoming spring on April 2nd. Up to now, many news media such as People’s Daily Online and Yangguang.com have reported on this activity.
