Vicente Andreu, the Foreign Dean of Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia in Spain, Visits NENU

On April 14th, Vicente Andreu, the foreign dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia in Spain, visited NENU. President Xu Haiyang met with him, and Zhang Jingping, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and related staff attended the meeting.

Xu Haiyang extended warm welcome to Vicente Andreu, who first visited NENU three years ago, and praised his work and achievements in the cooperation between the two universities and the friendship between China and Spain. Xu Haiyang hopes to use the platform of Confucius Institute to expand in-depth cooperation between the two universities in natural sciences, social sciences and other fields, continue to play a bridge role and regional advantages, and make greater contributions to cultural exchanges between China and Spain.

Vicente Andreu introduced the basic situation of the University of Valencia and the development of the Confucius Institute in recent years, and hoped that the Confucius Institute would play a greater role in the future cooperation and exchanges between the two universities.

The University of Valencia, founded in 1499, is one of the oldest existing public universities in Spain, and is considered as a first-class academic institution in Spain. The school is located in Valencia, the third largest city in Spain. In May 2007, the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia was jointly established by Northeast Normal University and the University of Valencia. Since its inception, the Confucius Institute has won numerous awards, and was named as “Advanced Confucius Institute” and “Model Confucius Institute” in the world.
