From April 20th to 28th, an expert group appointed by the Higher Education Evaluation Center of the Ministry of Education, with Professor Wang Beisheng of Henan University as the joint certification leader, conducted an inspection of the third-level certification expert group for chemistry and music of NENU.
Based on the principle of “focusing on key points, centering on problem-oriented, reducing burdens and increasing efficiency”, the expert group mainly examined the continuous improvement of the major after passing the second-level certification and the compliance with the advanced requirements of the third-level certification. The inspection is divided into two stages: online inspection and on-site inspection. During the on-site inspection (April 26-28), the expert group held a professional supplementary briefing meeting and a feedback meeting on the inspection opinions, interviewed the functional departments of NENU, members of the leadership team of the school where the certification major is located, and held seminars for teachers, students, alumni, employers and practice bases. Wang Yan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and Guo Jianhua, vice president, attended the professional supplementary briefing meeting and the feedback meeting on the inspection opinions.
The expert group agreed that after passing the second-level certification, the chemistry and music majors who participated in the certification have carried out fruitful and continuous improvement work, with clearer training objectives, optimized curriculum system and increasingly improved quality assurance. Compared with the advanced requirements of the three-level certification, the self-evaluation evidence of the overall indicators and supporting indicators is complete, the main line is clear, the bottom line is solid, and the output-oriented excellent teacher training goal is effectively achieved. The formed case of exemplary education and teaching reform is meaningful, effective, distinctive and leading. At the same time, the expert group also put forward suggestions for further improvement and development of the two majors.
Up to now, all 20 normal majors of NENU have completed the second-level certification, and 6 of them have completed the third-level certification (including the completion of the expert group inspection). Since 2020, with the mission of cultivating great teachers, NENU has systematically promoted the connotation construction of normal majors, focused on the advanced indicators of the third-level certification on the basis of systematically summarizing the experience in the construction of normal professional certification, guided by the training specifications of innovative outstanding teachers, with the “annual report on the training quality of professional talents” as the mechanism, with the deepening of the “evaluation reform on the achievement of curriculum goals” as the breakthrough point, led by the “demonstration education and teaching reform cases”, and in accordance with the working principle of “overall planning, normal construction, key promotion and pursuit of excellence”, we will work together to build an excellent teacher training system that aims at creativity.
