On June 26th, the opening ceremony of the training base for experiencedteachers in Northeast Normal University was successfully held. Wu Zhihui, vice president of NENU, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor Zhu Shengying, director of the executive office of the training program for model teachers in primary and secondary schools under the “National Training Program”, delivered a speech online.
Wu Zhihui welcomed the arrival of 12 model teachers from seven provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and introduced the development course of Northeast Normal University and the positive results achieved in discipline construction, personnel training and basic education services in recent years. Wu Zhihui said that the training program for experiencedteachers and principals in primary and secondary schools in the new era is the highest-level national training program for primary and secondary school teachers and principals in China. Northeast Normal University will attach great importance to the training of experienced teachers, actively integrate high-quality teacher education resources, be the pilot of experienced teachers in the whole process of professional development, improve their ability of educating people and talents, and lead and guide them to grow into “great teachers” in the new era.
Zhu Shengying put forward three suggestions and hopes for the cultivation of model teachers. First, integrating resources, paying attention to the times, focusing ondifferences, respecting regions, and cultivating fertile ground for the growth of modelteachers. Second, in-depth study, helping model teachers condense their teaching ideas and styles, helping them grow into educator-oriented teachers, and promotingthe overall improvement of the quality of basic education teachers in their regions.Third, cultivating the spiritual background of model teachers, refining educational feelings, actively undertaking the task of educational assistance, and playing the leading role of model teachers.
Professor Ma Yunpeng from the Faculty of Education of NENU, as a representative of the instructors, put forward the learning suggestions for the students from four aspects: feeling campus culture, refining teaching practice, studying practical problems and broadening academic horizons. Teacher Yu Yiling, the principal of Luwan Experimental Primary School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University, shared her learning results, experience and professional growth during her three-year study in Northeast Normal University as a representative of previous students. Teacher Zhang Yingfeng of Qinhuangdao No.1 Middle School shared hisexpectations and plans for training on behalf of all the members, and said that he would not forget his initiative mind, keep his mission in mind, and actively complete various assessment indicators. Professor Li Guang, Executive Dean of the Institute of Teacher Education, on behalf of the project executive unit, warmly welcomed the arrival of 12 model teachers, and said that in the next three years of training, we will make every effort to select the best instructor team and provide the best curriculum resources.
