On June 24th, the 10th member congress and 31st academic annual meeting of the Writing Society of Jilin, hosted by the School of Liberal Arts of NENU, was held. Professor Zhao Qiang, Vice President of the School of Liberal Arts, Professor Yin Xiaolin, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts of Changchun University of Science and Technology, Song Shilei, Deputy Secretary-General of China Writing Society, and Liu Hongyan, Deputy Director of Society Department of Jilin Federation of Social Sciences, delivered speeches respectively. Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles sent a congratulatory letter. Nearly 100 representatives from universities, primary and secondary schools, Lanzhou University, Shaanxi library and other units outside the province attended the meeting.
Liu Yu, a professor of the School of Liberal Arts and chairman of the Society, made a report on the work of the Society, and reported to all the delegates the activities organized by the Society since the establishment of the Ninth Council, including academic activities and work exchanges, the self-construction of the Society, the future and efforts of the Society, etc. Xu Qiang, professor of the School of Liberal Arts and secretary-general of the Society, gave a financial report and a report on revising the Constitution of the Writing Society of Jilin to all the delegates.
At this meeting, the new Council of the Provincial Writing Society was elected. Ten teachers, including Gao Yuqiu from the School of Liberal Arts, were elected as the new directors. Professor Xu Qiang was elected as the chairman, Professor Liu Yu was promoted as the honorary chairman, Professor Sun Liquan was elected as the vice chairman, and Teacher Yu Wensi was elected as the deputy secretary general. Professor Jin Zhenbang, honorary chairman of the ninth Council, and Professor He Ming, vice chairman, were promoted as consultants of the Society.
On behalf of the new Council, Xu Qiang put forward the future work plan for all the participants, pointing out that the construction of an innovative society can not be separated from writing with creativity as its core feature, and the new era is opening up a broad future for the vigorous development of writing discipline. The Writing Society of Jilin must seize this opportunity and make new achievements.
