On May 17th, under the guidance of Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the unveiling ceremony of the first literary and art review base in Jilin Province and the symposium on “New Era, New Expedition, High-quality and Prosperous Development of Jilin Literature and Art” jointly sponsored by Jilin Literary Critics Association, the School of Liberal Arts of NENU and Art and the magazine Literary and Artistic Contention was held in NENU. Chen Yaohui, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Lan Hengbin, Party Secretary of NENU attended the unveiling ceremony.
At the meeting, Chen Yaohui and Lan Hengbin jointly unveiled the literary review base in Jilin Province. Wang Shuanglong, vice-chairman and secretary-general of Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and editor-in-chief of the magazine Literature and Artistic Contention, presented the appointment certificate to Professor Wang Chunyu, director of Jilin Literature and Art Review Base and dean of the School of Liberal Arts of NENU.
In his speech, Lan Hengbin said that Northeast Normal University has a long history and profound academic foundation, and talents in the fields of literary theory research and literary review are numerous and far-reaching. In recent years, the School of Liberal Arts has made great efforts to strengthen the rational, systematic and holistic research and interpretation of the latest literary and artistic theoretical achievements of the Party, and has made a series of landmark achievements in major projects, high-level scientific research achievements, national first-class curriculum construction and top-notch innovative talents training. The establishment of Jilin Literature and Art Review Base in Northeast Normal University is not only an tribute to Northeast Normal University’s past work and contribution, but more importantly, it is to inherit and carry forward Yan’an spirit. In the great journey of Chinese modernization, it will give full play to the advantages of NENU’s disciplinary resources, academic resources and talent resources, serve the cultivation of literary and art masterpieces and literary review talents, promote the high-quality prosperity and development of literature and art, and enhance cultural self-confidence.
Chen Yaohui said in his speech that the establishment of Jilin Literature and Art Review Base is not only an important measure for Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and NENU to go hand in hand and solidly promote the high-quality prosperity and development of Jilin literature and art in the new era and new journey, but also a powerful witness for Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles to actively promote the deep integration of the organizational resources with academic resources, review resources and teachers and students resources in universities, strengthen the construction of literary theory criticism base and promote the high-quality development of Jilin literature and art review in the new era.
Wang Chunyu said that the establishment and construction of the base is an important opportunity for the discipline construction and talent training of the Schoolof Liberal Arts to further improve quality and innovate. In the future, with the aim of opening, uniting and cooperating to run the base, based in Jilin and facing the whole country, we will further integrate resources, unite the team, concise the direction, and innovate together, so as to serve the cultivation of Jilin’s fine literary and artistic creation and literary review talents with high-quality literary and artistic reviewachievements and high-level personnel training, and promote the high-quality prosperity and development of Jilin’s literature and art.
