On May 28th, the 5th China Collegiate Archery and Shooting Championship came to an end in Jilin Province. Fourteen athletes from NENU’s archery team took part in the competitions of traditional archery group A, traditional archery group C and recurve bow group C, and won 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals, with a record number of medals.
Among them, Liang Xiaoyue, a 2021 graduate student of the School of Physical Education, won the gold medal in the individual knockout of recurve bow Women’s Group C (Elite Group), Zhang Zhi, a 2020 undergraduate student, won the gold medal in the individual knockout of traditional bow Men’s Group C (Elite Group), and Fu Yuhao, a 2020 undergraduate student, won the silver medal in the individual knockout of traditional bow Men’s Group C (Elite Group). Fu Yuhao, a 2020 undergraduate student, and Wu Yongwei, an 2022 undergraduate student, won the silver medal in the traditional bow-C mixed team knockout, Liang Xiaoyue, a 2021 graduate student, and Zhao Tianhao, an 2019 undergraduate student, won the bronze medal in the recurve bow C mixed team knockout, Wu Yongwei, an 2022 undergraduate student, won the bronze medal in the traditional bow-C Women’s individual knockout, and Cui Xiuxian, an 2020 undergraduate student. Zhao Hongxia and Cao Shuhan, 2019 undergraduates from the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and Chen Shifang, 2019 undergraduates from the School of History and Culture, won the eighth place in the traditional bow Women’s group A (Sunshine Group) knockout tournament.
The competition was hosted by Federation of University Sports of China and hosted by Meihekou City Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau (Sports Bureau), which attracted 344 athletes from 54 universities across the country.
