On May 25th, the 1st Changchun Sports Meeting (Workers’ Group) and the 1stWorkers’ Sports Meeting hosted by Changchun Municipal People’s Government and undertaken by Changchun Federation of Trade Unions opened in Changchun Workers’ Gymnasium.
In this sports meeting, the Trade Union of NENU selected three teams, namely swimming, table tennis and badminton, to participate in the competition. As of May 26th, a team of six swimmers participated in the two-day swimming competition. There were 81 units and 308 athletes participating in the competition. After two days of fierce competition, Peng Pai, from the Trade Union of NENU, finally won the gold medal in the Men’s 50m breaststroke. Nian Qing, from the School of Physical Education won the silver medal in the Men’s 50m butterfly and the bronze medal in the 100m freestyle respectively. Chen Ran of the School of Physical Education won the silver medal in the Women’s 50m butterfly and the bronze medal in the 100m freestyle respectively. BELICHENKO ELIZAVETA (Peng Lisha) of the School of Foreign Languages won the bronze medal in the Women’s 50m freestyle, and the silver medal (runner-up) in the 4×50m freestyle team mixed relay.
