On May 25th, Professor Wu Chang’an, the librarian of NENU, and Professor Huang Bailou, from the library of Stony Brook University in the United States jointly signed the “Inter-library Cooperation Agreement between the Library of Northeast Normal University and the Library of Stony Brook University”. The two sides reached cooperation intentions in academic exchange, resource co-construction and sharing, business exchange and exchange visits. This cooperation will help promote learning and communication between the two sides, improve service quality, and better meet the needs of teachers and students in the universities.
On the day of signing the agreement, the library of NENU successfully hosted the “AIGC Academic Report”. At the report conference, Professor Huang Bailou delivered a keynote speech entitled “The Potential Impact of AIGC on Academia and Libraries”. He thoroughly analyzed the influence of AIGC on academic circles and libraries, including the influence on improving search and discovery, reference service, information service and information literacy. More than 150 librarians from 18 libraries in Changchun, Jilin, Yanji, Ji’an etc. attended the meeting. Participants spoke highly of the report and agreed that the report has important practical and guiding significance for understanding and coping with the challenges brought by AIGC.
