Between the 18 and 19 of this September,, Wang Yan, Vice-Party Secretary of NENU and president of the Alumni Association of NENU, led the heads of the Publicity Department, the Archives, the Alumni Office to visit the former sites of NENU in Jiamusi, collect local historical archives, and trace the history of the early establishment of NENU.
During the 77 years of NENU's development,the Jiamusi period takes an extremely important place and it was a glorious chapter in the early history of NENU's development. NENU (then known as Northeast University) worked in Jiamusi from June 1946 to July 1948 .
On September 18, the investigation group went to Jiamusi University, and had a talk with the leaders in Jiamusi University such as Qiu Hongbin, Party Secretary of Jiamusi University, Zhu Yuzhu, Vice Party Secretary and Xie Lili, Director of the Organization Department as well as a member of the CPC Standing Committee of the university. On behalf of NENU, Wang Yan expressed his gratitude to Jiamusi University for the careful protection to the former site of Northeast University over the years . He said, Jiamusi was known as the "Little Yan'an in Northeast China". During that period, Northeast University made great progress and it played a pivotal role in the history of NENU. After the meeting, the investigation group went to the first hospital attached to Jiamusi University to visit the former site of Northeastern University and talked with the relevant personnel. Fu Hongbo, former secretary-general of Jiamusi city government, editor-in-chief of Chronicle of Jiamusi City, president of "Little Yan'an in Northeast China" Research Association, introduced the running situation of Northeastern University in detail to the research group, and provided valuable historical textual materials and video information.
On September 19, the research group went to Jiamusi City Archives to check the historical data of Northeastern University. Wu Zhenjiang, director of Jiamusi City Archives and the relevant personnel communicated with the investigation group on the history of Northeastern University, and jointly checked the historical data. Subsequently, the research group went to the "Hejiang Provincial Government Museum", and carried out an in-depth and detailed study on the collection of cultural relics of Northeastern University. During the activity, Wang Yan and his delegation also had a meeting with the representative alumni in Jiamusi.
