Recently, the first session of the council and the leading organization on the first member congress of the Jilin Provincial Academicians and Experts Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association), and Academician Liu Yichun was elected as the president of the Association. Jin Ningyi, Chen Xuesi, Lin Jun, Wang Lichun, Jin Lei, Li Jibao and Lin Tian were elected as the vice presidents of the Association, and Academician Feng Shouhua, Academician Li Yu, Academician Yu Jihong and Academician Jiang Huilin were elected as the honorary presidents of the Association. There are 19 standing directors, 66 directors and 206 members on the council. Among which, there are 70 academicians from both inside and outside Jilin Province.
The inaugural meeting of the Association was held in Changchun on December 16. Wu Haiying, the deputy secretary of Jilin Provincial Party Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of Jilin Provincial Party Committee, attended the meeting and gave a speech. Academician Li Shushen, the former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Academician Liu Yichun, the president of the Association, jointly unveiled the nameplate. Academician Yu Jihong, the chairman of Jilin Provincial Society and Technology Association, Professor Li Jinghong from Tsinghua University and Academician Liu Yichun, the president of the Association, addressed the meeting respectively.
Academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences including Wang Erkang, Wang Jiaqi, Yang Xiurong, Wang Lijun, Zou Zhigang, Tian Yongjun, Chen Xuesi, Chi Lifeng, Zheng Wanhua, Chen Lidong, Ma Yanming, and Zheng Hairong, and academicians from Chinese Academy of Engineering including Xia Xianzhu, Lijun, Jiang Huilin, Jin Ningyi and Zhou Ji attended the meeting. Academician Dong Shaojun from the Third World Academy of Sciences and Academician Ren Changzhong from Russian Academy of Sciences attended the meeting. A total of more than 200 people including comrades from institutions for higher learning in Jilin Province and scientific research institutes and representatives of members of the Association attended the meeting.
