On March 30th, the School of Physics held the "Astronomy Trilogy" popular science education event. The event consisted of three parts: academic lectures, visits to popular science bases, and an astronomy knowledge competition.
At 10 a.m., researcher Zhu Wenbai from the FAST Center of the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences gave a themed academic lecture on "People's Scientist Nan Rendong and China's Eye in the Sky" in the academic lecture hall on the second floor of the Weizhen Building, which was attended by numerous scholars, students, and astronomy enthusiasts.
During the visit to the popular science base, the Observatory popular science education base welcomed over 300 visitors, including students, teachers, and astronomy enthusiasts from various educational stages.
At 2 p.m., the National High School Astronomy Knowledge Competition kicked off in a classroom on the first floor of the School of Physics. This was the first time the competition was held at our school and the only examination site in the three northeastern provinces of China. It attracted 76 high school students from the three northeastern provinces and Shandong Province.
