On April 3rd, our school launched the spring sowing of the experimental fields for Xiaobingmai and the standardized planting demonstration area for Xiaobingmai in Tongyu County, Jilin Province, where technical support was provided.
The Xiaobingmai series varieties are spring wheat varieties bred by the academician Hao Shui and other senior scientists at our school through distant hybridization and chromosome engineering technology. They are named after containing chromosome fragments from "Agropyron cristatum". "Xiaobingmai 33" is also a key parent in wheat hybrid breeding in China and has played an important role in the improvement of Chinese wheat varieties.
In recent years, the school has continued its efforts in breeding new varieties of Xiaobingmai, further improving its edible quality and tolerance to saline-alkali soils.
