Our University has Made Significant Progress in the Field of Drug Target Screening and Nucleic Acid Drug Development

Published:June 4, 2024 Review:

The National Engineering Laboratory for Drug Gene and Protein Screening at Northeast Normal University (hereinafter referred to as the "laboratory") is one of the first ten national engineering laboratories established by the National Development and Reform Commission in the field of biotechnology in 2008. In recent years, relevant achievements have been successively published in journals such as the Journal of Advanced Research (2024), Cell Chemical Biology (2023), Small (2023), Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy (2022), Biosensors and Bioelectronics (2022), among others. Recently, significant progress has been made in the laboratory's related research.

Dr. Zhao Yongyun's research team at the laboratory, in collaboration with Professor Song Xu's research team from Sichuan University, has made new progress in the field of drug development targeting "difficult-to-drug" targets. The relevant research results, titled "Antitumor Effect of Anti-c-Myc Aptamer-Based PROTAC for Degradation of the c-Myc Protein," were published in the international academic journal "Advanced Science" in April 2024.

Professor Bao Yongli and Associate Professor Song Zhenbo's research team at the laboratory have made important progress in the field of drug target identification for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The relevant research results, titled "TSP50 Attenuates DSS-Induced Colitis by Regulating TGF-β Signaling Mediated Maintenance of Intestinal Mucosal Barrier Integrity," were published in the international academic journal "Advanced Science" in March 2024.
